Meet Your Host
Growing up in the UK, I was surrounded by fragments of my heritage, stories of resilience, traditions and a deep ancestral connection that felt both distant and personal. Like many in the African Diaspora, I longed to uncover the roots of my identity and explore the stories that shaped who I am. In 2019, my journey brought me to Ghana during the historic Year of Return, which marked 400 years since the transatlantic slave trade. This powerful initiative invited Diasporans to reconnect with their ancestral land and for me, it was life changing. Standing at Elmina Castle, I was moved to tears, realising I wasn’t just visiting, I was reclaiming a piece of myself and connecting with my ancestors. This transformative experience inspired me to create With Love From Ghana Ltd, a tour business dedicated to helping others connect with the land, culture and history of Ghana. My connection to Ghana didn’t end with that first visit. I returned in March2020 for a six-day trip, which became 150 days due to the worldwide lockdown. During that time, I fell in love with all things Ghanaian, from the food, culture, weather, history & of course the beautiful people. Since then, I have toured Central, Ashanti, the Volta & Eastern Regions, exploring the hidden wonders and learning more. I have written three books, The Overstayer, a collection of poems written during lockdown about my journey, feelings and experiences of living in Ghana for five months. The other two are children's photo books about fruits and vegetables found in Ghana, written in Twi and English. I became a Ghana Guru through the Ghana Tourism Authority, which enables me to promote Ghana as a tourism destination and assist in improving the level of services to tourists. I am Mama Adjua, a cultural ambassador and I aim to form a bridge between African Diasporans worldwide and their heritage in Ghana, by providing cultural transformations and life changing experiences. Let’s explore your story together!
